Dr. Alecia Anderton-Georgie

Dr. Alecia Anderton-Georgie is an interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner who bridges the worlds of data technology and applied public health. Holding a Doctorate in Management from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Health in Applied Epidemiology from UNC's Gillings School of Global Public Health, she brings a uniquely integrated perspective to every engagement.
With over three decades of experience in computing and information systems, Dr. Anderton-Georgie currently serves as a Public Health Research Consultant at Shaw University, leading applied research on COVID-19 disparities, housing instability, and the digital divide. She is also faculty at Wake Technical Community College, developing the next generation of health informatics and cybersecurity professionals.
Her research centers on digital equity as a social determinant of health — particularly in rural and underserved communities — and on strengthening data-informed public health infrastructure at every level of the system.
